1080 Recurve in Mallee Burl

Blade:
7.5" from scales to tip x 1.25" at the widest point x .125" thick
Grind:
Full convex with convex edge
Hardening:
Differentially hardened to ~60 at the edge with a spotted hamon
Handle:
Australian Mallee burl with two 3/16" copper pins and one mosaic pin
Sheath:
7-8 oz. hand stitched Sam Brown style with two spikes instead of the traditional round stud

Forged 1080 Kwaiken

_Steel: 1080
OAL: 8"
Blade: 4" (from wrap to tip) x 1.25" at the widest point
Thickness: .057" at the spine in the middle of the blade - I forged this almost paper thin
Grind: Full double flat ground to 1200 grit and buffed
Hardening: Differentially clay hardened with hamon, RcH ~60
Handle: Black cotton maki (West System epoxy impregnated) over black sting ray and lizard menuki
Sheath: 7-8 oz. hand stitched and tooled leather with integral belt loop
